昨夜ダーバン入りし、バリトのもっと北に位置するジンクワジのコテージにチェックイン。
今朝はまだ真っ暗の５時半に家を出て、コンテスト会場となるサーファーズビーチへ〜
すでにサンライズと共にセッションが始まっていた〜
Day 1 in Ballito~~
We got to Durban last night and checked into our cottage.
And went to Surfer’s Beach on early morning~~
Session has already started along with the sun rise~~

コンテストサイトとなるサーファーズビーチから望む、
お隣のウイルラードビーチでも、ホットなセッションが展開されていた〜
Hot session was going on at Willard Beach next to the Surfer’s Beach~~
Kanoa Igarashi
インドトリップからそのままサウスアフリカ入りしてきたカノア。
６／１から施行された、１８歳未満の入国審査でややスタックしたが、
なんとか無事入国し、この前期最後のプライム戦に望んでいる。
Kanoa just came here from India.
Got stuck at the immigration but
finally got in and getting ready for the Prime Event.
７時過ぎからコンテストはスタートされ、
まずはウーメン／１スターから、そして、メンズ／トライアルが行われた。
Contest started from 7 am.
Started off with the Women’s division and the Men’s trial after that.
Reo Inaba
日本人唯一人トライアルに出場したイナバレオ。
ラウンドー１２８／ヒートー７で、インターフェアをとられながらも１位で通過した。
Reo Inaba was the only Japanese surfer who surfed on the trial.
Got an interfere but won up the Heat 7, Round 128 as a 1st place.

ラウンドー１１０／ヒートー４でも終始トップをキープしていたが、
トライアルウイナーとなったロブソンサントスに引っくり返され、
辛くも２位でラウンドアップした〜〜
Reo was going good will the end on Heat 4, Round 110 but
Robson Santos took the lead.
But he still won up as a 2nd place~~

勢いに乗ったレオはラウンドー１０２、つまりトライアルのセミファイナルでも、
落ち着いた攻めで、トライアルファイナルに駒を進めた〜〜
And he also won up the Semi-Final and
went up to the Final~~

しかしファイナルではブラジリアンの猛攻に挟まれ、
更に自身のサーフィンもコンプリートがなく、
残念ながら４位となり、２名のワイルドカードをゲットする事が出来なかった。
レオは明日以降、本戦ラウンドー１のオートネを待つ。
But couldn’t get through the
Brazilian’s assault so he became 4th place and
couldn’t get the Wild Card for the top two surfers.
Now, he’s waiting for the Main competition’s Round 1.
