ジェフリーズベイの夜明け、これで大体６時半頃なんで、入水は７時頃になる。
沖に見える漁り火はイカ釣り漁船。
この辺りはイカのことをチョカといい、豊富に取れるので有名だ。
Sun rises from around 6:30 am at Jeffreys Bay so
we start surfing from 7 am.
We could see many squid fisher boats out there.
People call a squid “Choka” here is it’s famous of it’s amount fished.

今日はサイズダウンなので、またボーンヤーズよりとなった。
セットは来るがインコンシスタントなので、サーファーもまばらだった。
Size went down so Bone Yards is looking better.
Set comes in but it’s inconsistent so not much surfers inside.
小さいのかな？と思いきやこんなドセットもやってくるので、
なんだかんだファンっていうかゴーインオ〜フ！！
今朝は一段と冷え込み、靴下２枚重ねに、パッチ（ステテコ）まで履いちまった〜
But if we’re relaxing, these kind sets come in so
pretty going off!!
Morning temprature was sp cold so I wore
2 pair of socks and a pacth~~

ボーンヤーズのスーパーファーストな２セクションの筒をメイクしてきたヒロトン。
人が少なかったので、ポジション取りがしやすかったようだ。
Hiroto made through this 2 super fast section.
Not much surfer was inside so good to take position.
Tatsuya Fukagawa
今回のサウスアフリカトリップの中でも、
この前半の１１日／ジェフリーズをフルにエンジョイしたいと語ってくれたタツヤ。
若手二人の良き兄貴分として、セッションをリードしていってくれている。
Tatsuya told me he wants to enjoy ther first half of this South African Trip.

メンバーの中では唯一人のバックサイダーのレオ。
フロントでは出来ないアプローチを期待し、今回のトリップに誘ってみた。
レールの入った粘りのある独特のスタイルが、ジェイベイにフィットしてきた〜
Reo is the only back sider in this member.
I invited him because there should be approach that only the back sider can do.
His particular style that sticks witht he rale is fitting with Jeffreys Bay~~
ジェフリーズベイの町外れにある、TOKYO SEX WALE と言う黒人居住区。
今日は朝二から北寄りの風が入りだし、ジェフリーズもチョップってきたので、
久々車で移動、この村を通り抜けてケープサンフランシスを目指した〜
Residentaial area for the black people called the Tokyo Sex Wale near Jeffreys Bay.
Northerly wind started to fill in from morning and condition got choppy so
went to Cape San Francisco vis this village~~

ケープサンフランススにある、シールビーチとシールポイントをチェケラ〜
ポイントは充分なサイズはあるが、やっぱ北風くらいジャンク。
ビーチはやや大味クローズ気味、何よりもシャーキーなのでノーサーフですた〜
Checked out Seal Point & Seal Beach placed in Cape San Francisco.
Size is enough but pretty junky by the north wind.
Beach is a bit closed and shark might show up so
no surf here~~

ケープサンフランシスからジェフリーズに戻ると、
何気に風もましになっていたので、いつものように夕方セッション開始〜
オンショア後のグラッシーコンディションに戻ったので、
空気がやたらヘイジーだった。
When we got back to Jeffreys Bay,
wind was a bit better so started our evening session~~
Condition became glassy so
air was a bit hazy.

夕方のジェイベイは見た目は良いが、実は早くて、
抜けるだけでなかなかアクションが入りずらかった。
それでも梅雨の日本を思えば極上の波さね〜
Evening J-Bay looks scenic but waves are fast so
it looked hard for the surfers to make an action.
But wonderful waves comparing to this season’s Japanese ones.

ボーンヤーズで乗って来ると、御覧の様に遠目のフレームだが、
どんどん走って来ると目の前まで繋がって来るんだよん〜
この岩の間には、ムール貝や蛸、ウニがわんさかいるんや〜〜
If you caught a wave from the Bone Yards,
as you see, it connects down to this point~~

He is the ex-World Junior Champion, Maxime Huscenot from Reunion.
