今回のジェイベイオープンを一緒のフラットで過ごした、
カミオ君、ユキさん、エガワ君が今朝のフライトで帰国していった〜
昨日とは打って変わり、天気はグレー、波もサイズダウンし、
皆も燃え尽きたって感じでお帰りになられました〜〜

大ハプニングの結末で終わったジェイベイオープン。
今日からはコンテストサイトの撤去作業に入った〜
波は２〜３〜、風はグラッシー、でも流石に昨日のシャークアタック事件で海に入る気にはなれない。

From today, contest site is getting removed~~
Waves are 2~3~ in a glassy condition but because of yesterday’s shark attack,
I don’t even want to get inside the water.

２０年振りにデレクハインドと再会した〜
１１フィートのフィンレスを駆って、デレク独特のスタイルでジェイベイを滑っていた。
写真は昨日の夕方、コンテストがキャンセルになってすぐにデレクは一人パドルアウトしていった。
ジェイベイオープンの前身がビラボンプロ、そのまた前身となったのが、
２５年前にデレクが企画した”カントリーフィーリング／ドリームシークエンス”というコンテストだ。
その後、デレクはジェイベイに家を建て、オーストラリアとサウスアフリカを行ったり来たりしている。
Met with Derek Hynd for the first time in 20 year~~
He was gliding through J-Bay with his fin-less 11 ft board.
The picture above was taken yesterday after the contest was canceled.
The competition before J-Bay was named Billabong Pro and the
competition before that was called the Dream Sequence, Country Feeling
planned by Derek 25 years ago.
Later on, he built a house at J-Bay and he’s going back and forth through Australia
and South Africa.
